Tip of the Day: How was your 4th of July for those of you in the United States?? Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays: friends, family fireworks, FOOD! It's one of those weekend holidays where Monday is a more difficult than usual and getting back into our normal fitness routine may be a bit challenging. No worries...we're all in the same boat and I have 3 things you can do today to look and feel great!


Post 4th of July Plan: (1) DRINK: drinking lots of water is always a good idea, but upping your H20 intake even more than usual will benefit you today more than ever! Typically, our holiday foods include more sodium than we are used to, which can lead to bloating. Beat the bloat by drinking extra water today - add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice from a de-bloating bonus!

(2) SWEAT: just like drinking water, working up a good sweat will help flush out toxins and sodium we may have accumulated over the weekend. My favorite way to work up an extra sweet sweat is to do a few sprints outdoors in the heat! If you're going to the gym today, warm up with 5 rounds of 30 second sprints in the parking lot!

(3) SALADS: our bodies chemical reaction to high calorie and fat items can lead us to crave the following day, which is something you may be noticing today. Salads are a great go-to to curb cravings. Make yourself a bed of greens with veggie toppings and 1 tbsp of an oil based dressing ((my favorites are found here)) It's a great side to any meal or between meals to fill the belly because of it's nutrient density!
